ROLE: QA Tester (Contract)

Stormcloud Games are currently developing a multi-platform title for PS4, XB1, Switch, PC and mobile – and are looking for a QA Tester to join the team on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will be part of a small internal QA team, reporting to the QA Lead, helping to find and report issues within the game.

Key skills required:
• Keen eye for detail
• Computer literate: Word/Excel/JIRA
• Excellent verbal and written English communication
• Team orientated attitude

Experience required: While we welcome applications from experienced QA Testers, we are also open to working with talented individuals with no/limited QA experience.

This is a contract position (6 months).

JOB OPENING: 3D Animator (Graduate/Junior)

ROLE: Graduate/Junior Maya 3D Animator (Short Contract / 3-4 months)
LOCATION: Dundee (In-house)

Stormcloud Games are looking for a Graduate/Junior Animator to join the team on a short-term basis to help develop a multi-platform title for PS4, XB1 Switch, PC and mobile.
Working alongside our Lead Animator you will help out where necessary: skinning, rigging, and animating cutscenes.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: No professional games experience needed. But must be proficient in MAYA. Any Unity 3D experience would be helpful.
PREREQUISITE: A strong showreel that demonstrates your 3D animation skills.
This role would be perfect for a recent graduate looking to get their first role on a commercial product within professional game studio environment.

ROLE: QA Lead (Contract)

LOCATION: Dundee (In-house)


Stormcloud Games are currently developing a multi-platform title for PS4, XB1 Switch, PC and mobile – and are looking for an experienced/senior QA Tester to join the team and lead the QA process.
The QA Lead will take on the responsibility to ensure that the entire QA process is planned and organised to a high standard, throughout development, all the way until launch on each platform.

The QA Lead will also be responsible for:
• Recruiting and managing the internal QA team for the project
• QA work coordination, bug verification, training and coaching of junior QA team members
• Participating in management meetings and discussions, and producing reports where necessary.
• Providing insight on what processes can be automated to ensure efficiency
• Creating specific tests plans for the project
• Assigning testers to verify sweep cycles and proposing regression tasks
• Taking ownership of the QA database used for tracking on the project

Experience required: 2-3+ years experience within a game developer/studio environment Shipped a minimum of one game as the senior QA from early development to release.
This is a contract position (15 months) with a view to becoming a permanent role based on future company performance.

Small team seeks…

Small development team seeks Unity or Unreal coders for programming and games-related fun.

Thanks to our new project – a colourful, open-world adventure with a twist for console, PC and mobile – the team at Stormcloud are looking for 1-2 experienced coders to join our team and work alongside us in our Dundee studio.

Experience & Skills

Ideally applicants will:

  • Be familiar with either Unity or Unreal game engines
  • Have excellent all-round games coding skills and knowledge
  • If you have a specialism in one particular area i.e. AI, shaders, etc that’s fantastic but we will expect you to help with ALL areas of the game!
  • Have completed at least one previous commercial title
  • Have a degree in a Computer Science or Mathematical-related subject

It would help if you have levelled your IRL character up to include the following attributes:

  • Enthusiasm and drive to make the absolute best game possible within the project constraints.
  • Active team player who loves to collaborate
